i picked up a 2nd-hand copy of the following album this morning on my way to work.
listening to this one takes me back exactly 20 years, to a high school camp where we were rehearsing our school musical ('fiddler on the roof' - i played the drunkard innkeeper!). specifically, i can distinctly remember lying on the lower bed of a double-bunk bed in the dormitory & listening to a taped cassette copy of this on my walkman ...
funny how the mind operates 8^D

I, too, came across that record in 1987. I had a legit cassette copy.
Great album!
Is that the one with bittersweet on it? I only have their greatest hits -oh, what's it called?..the one with the red checked tablecloth on it.Due it it being 1987, what's my scene must be on there, surely?
they are playing london next month!
cheers for your comments! nice one andy
lee - no the classic 'bittersweet' was on their earlier 2nd album 'mars needs guitars' (and i must get myself a copy of that one as i used to love it too!). i think their greatest hits is 'electric soup'? and u r right - blow your cool (their 3rd album) has 'what's my scene' as the 2nd track.
dan - they also are playing at the 'splendour in the grass' festival in byron next weekend which, as of 6 days ago, i am now attending!! can't wait ;-D
