i've been taking a few pics on my mobile phone camera when driving to work in the mornings - don't worry, i've generally been doing this SAFELY, usually when stopped at lights, etc.
the other day i saw a black car driving quite quickly up ahead of me. at first i was wondering was it a legendary "holden sandman" station wagon from the 1970s? one of those vehicles with the curious nick-name of the "shaggin' wagon"!
i caught up with it at a t-junction, and took the pic below.
i actually now think it is probably a ex-hearse .... that's right, a vehicle that used to carry coffins - coffins with bodies in them - around, to & from funerals, graveyards, crematoria, etc. what do u think?
the driver was wearing what looked like an interesting funky little hat, and after it turned left onto the next street it took at at considerable speed up the hill & into the distance ... late for an appointment?

I don't know what it is used for, but someone who would want to own such a vehicle is obviously up to no good ;).
eerie!
Keshi.
Maybe I should get a hearse. It might be a good repellant for the crazies I deal with.
Or maybe it will attract them even more!
Arghhhh!
it's definitely a panel van i reckon.
dan, u may b right, but the main reason i'm thinking it's originally a hearse is the back hatch .... see how the bottm of the hatch is higher up - above the tail lights - compared to the usual panel van bottom which is in line with the bottom of the tail lights? i reckon this higher hatch is typical of a hearse, and e.g. enables coffins to be put in/out of the back more easily, without having to bend over ... ?

good thinking. although, i would say that that is the reason it's NOT a hearse.
surely a hearse would need the door to open up fully - that is, right down to the tail lights to fit the coffin in more easily?

This is great info to know.
