kids are often quite amazing!
a few weeks ago, while we were on holiday (camping on an island), it's after sunset & before dinner, and my son says he needs to do a poo. i walk him to the toilet and hang around outside the door while he does his thing (which invariably takes quite a while).
so he's sitting there on the toilet with pants off & legs spread wide, when he starts talking about god and what his friend told him about god. he asks me what i think about it all - about god's possible existence & relationship between god & 'the spirit'. i give a fairly agnostic-type or balanced answer, saying some beleive & some don't, etc. ... my son DEMANDS a committed answer one way or the oher! "yes or no dad?!?!"

Soooo...yes or no, dad!???
I am laughing so hard over here! :)
take him to church, make him do sunday school, get him baptised and confirmed.
it's the only way to turn him against religion for ever.
andy - good strategy!!! works for a lot of people, and it kinda worked in some ways with me (albeit i wasn't confirmed [and of course still am not])
awa - thought u might ask! ;-D well, look essentially at the end of it all i said (in more simple terms) that i could consider god as a force, such as the kind of force that produces lightning. he conurtered that with the belief that god lives in the clouds, and i didn't agree with that. then he asked me what a froce is, and mentioned the spirirt again ..... ;-D - but that's another story, and by the way, the poo was over and we were on our way back to the camp by then ....
