hi, i want to post something now but don't have much time (just for a change!) so i'm going to quote a poem (the title of which is the name of the music festival i went to a few weeks back; also there was a movie of the same name made 30-40 years ago):

Splendour in the Grass

What though the radiance
which was once so bright
Be now for ever taken from my sight,
Though nothing can bring back the hour
Of splendour in the grass,
of glory in the flower,
We will grieve not, rather find
Strength in what remains behind;
In the primal sympathy
Which having been must ever be;
In the soothing thoughts that spring
Out of human suffering;
In the faith that looks through death,
In years that bring the philosophic mind.

-- William Wordsworth

what do u think?

~

PS - just a little note for the trainspotters out there: about 15 years i was really into an album by a band called single gun theory. in a prelude to one of thier songs they sampled (from the movie, i think) someone reading the 4th to 8th lines above; it captured my curiosity back then. a couple of years later the proprietors of a cafe on an island in southern thailand also too a liking to this album, but that's another story ... ;-D

So true for the times I have had lately...
